Our group hosted the 1st Base4NFDI User Conference (UC4B 2024) in Berlin. Base4NFDI is an initiative that will develop and offer a set of common shared RDM enabling services to the NFDI community. Base4NFDI supports this via an iterative three-step process, allowing a participatory path to roll-out and, importantly, gaining consensus from the NFDI community along the way. Our group participated in ESWC 2024 in Hersonissos, Crete and ISWC 2024 in Baltimore, USA this year. At these events, we organized 3 workshops. At ESWC 2024, we organized the ‘1st International Workshop on Natural Scientific Language Processing and Research Knowledge Graphs (NSLP 2024)’ and the ‘4th Workshop on Metadata and Research (Objects) Management for Linked Open Science (DaMaLOS 2024)’. At ISWC 2024, we organized the ‘4th International Workshop on Scientific Knowledge: Representation, Discovery and Assessment (Sci-K 2024)’.

Our group actively participated in the EOSC Symposium 2024 and the co-located EOSCxNFDI event. Prof. Dr. Sonja Schimmler gave talks on ‘Base4NFDI - a European Perspective’ and ‘NFDI4DS - a European Perspective’. Further more, the group organized a world cafe session on ‘AI’. The EOSC Symposium 2024 was a critical event on the path to EOSC post-2027. It was a key event to network and exchange ideas with policy makers, funders, and representatives of research institutions, research communities, and data- and e-infrastructures active in the EOSC ecosystem.
